BPI ISSUES PEST ADVISORIES ON DROUGHT-RELATED PESTS

 In a memorandum signed by Bureau of Plant OIC Director George Y. Culaste, DA Regional Directors, BPI Center Chiefs, BPI National Plant Quarantine Services, National Seed Quality Control Services and Crop Research and Production Support Divisions are advised to alert their respective staff and closely monitor areas for possible infestation of drought-related pests. The memorandum was issued following the reported armyworm infestation on onion in Nueva Ecija (General Natividad, Rizal, Quezon and Bongabon) affecting 726 ha (partially damage) and considering the El Nino/ drought affecting concerned provinces wherein pest outbreak will likely to occur. Pertinent information and possible management strategies are provided below for information and immediate action.
